BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT

Olidia Hospice works to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of patients and family members who share the emotional trauma of a terminal illness.
Bereavement care is an essential component of hospice care that includes anticipating grief reactions and providing ongoing support for the bereaved over a period of 13 months.

EMOTIONAL SUPPORT

We work hard to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of patients and family members who share the emotional trauma of a terminal illness

  • Assessing Needs

    1. Identifying family members in need of bereavement support.
    2. Assessing family strengths, bereavement risk, and concerns and needs related to grief and loss.
    3. Empowering families to manage grief by identifying areas of strength and support
    4. Referring families who need services for complicated bereavement, mental health or other needs

  • Providing Support

    Providing basic grief information and support through:
    a. Written materials (cards, letters, booklets)
    b. Individual contacts (monthly phone calls, home visits)
    c. Support groups
    d. Commemorative activities (Time of Remembrance, We Honor Veterans)
